such a BIG NAME!!!

I wonder if anyone out there has any advice for a recently married artist with a 3-syllable maiden name and a 2-syllable married name - hoping to just call herself by her first and new last name, but not wanting to confuse anyone by the sudden switch!? -- Oh gosh, am I that ridiculous that I think I have enough fans to confuse in the first place?? -- I was thinking I would just minimize my name on all blogs, websites, paintings, etc. to "Sunny's Art" - but after googling that phrase and finding a whole slew of hippie jewelry websites, and paintings of puppy dogs and daffodils, and flying fairies, and...well, the name just didn't seem so appealing anymore.

So, needless to say, I haven't gotten it all figured out just yet. And if you see my name written one way on my website, another on my blog, and yet another on my credit card, my checkbook, and my junkmail - I apologize for the confusion.

  1. Hey Sunny! I was looking through your website and found your blog. :) I know how you feel with the name thing--I've been married almost 2 years and I just barely got my new name on my drivers license last month! And hey I wanted to ask you, did you design your website yourself? If so, what software/website generator did you use? I'm in the process of doing mine right now and trying to figure out the best way to do it. Anyways, I'm really excited about your new blog! Hope you're doing well :)

  2. Hey Whitney! Yeah, its a drag to figure out this name thing. -- Well don't get too excited about my new blog. If you haven't noticed yet, I'm kind of at a loss for new posts. Don't know yet if this is my "thing"!

As for my website - I actually traded a designer friend to have it made. If you can find a designer that likes your work, I would recommend it. I wouldn't know details about it actually as I didn't do it myself. I'd either trade for a site if I were you, or just find an inexpensive website template to use. There are some pretty nice ones out there. Good luck!
